Exclusive Interview – Stringer: Mixed Marks on Sandy; ‘Likes’ All Dem Mayoral Candidates

Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer acknowledged the shortcomings of the response to Sandy in an exclusive interview with GestetnerUpdates.Com. He gave the interview a day after announcing that he is running for NYC Comptroller.

“This was not the kind response we needed given what was happening to us,” said Stringer. “Having said that, I will tell you that the Mayor, the Governor and the elected officials that I worked with did amazing work dealing with the crisis day to day, says Stringer. “I give people on the front lines, the volunteers, Fire, and Police great accolades for a job well done, but there is so much more that needs to be done: We have to plan better; we have to manage better; we have to build the city better.”

On the question which NYC Mayoral candidate he supports, Mr. Stringer told GestetnerUpdates.Com, “I know them all; I like them all, and I want to work with the next Democratic Mayor.” Mr. Stringer added that he is not yet prepared to make an endorsement. “I will be looking at what the candidates have to say. I will sit down with them and I will have this discussion during the course of the campaign.”
